IN RESPONSE TO "WILL GOOD MEDICINE GO UP IN SMOKE?"

In response to an article in the Sentinel published on October 1st. People
in the "land of the free" should have the actual freedom to consume
marijuana for whatever purpose, not just medical usage.

Or for that matter they should be able to consume any other substance which
they chose to put in their bodies.

If someone is stupid enough to do crack or heroin, within the confines of
their own home, and overdose and die, that's their problem. What if they get
out and do harm to society?

One might ask. Well what does America ALREADY do to drug users who get out
and harm society(alcoholics)? Why make the honest hard working general
public pay for a crack addict's stay in jail? It is simply beyond common
sense to believe that the government can invade all American homes, and
control what people put into their bodies. George W. and Jeb Bush cannot
even
control the substances their OWN daughters' put into their bodies (Jeb's
daughter guilty for possession of cocaine, George W.'s daughters attempted
to
buy alcohol with a fake license, and attempted to illegally attain
prescription drugs.) The "War On Drugs" should have a different title, it
should be called "The Waste of Money." It is the American government that
keeps prices high on drugs, by keeping them illegal.

Taboo = expensive. So when I see these commercials about "if you buy drugs
you could be supporting a terrorist" it appalls me. Besides all you have to
do is make reference to the Iran contra scandal to see who REALLY supports
terrorists. By keeping crack illegal, it belittles my intelligence. For
example I am 22, at any point in the day I could go out and legally buy 18
bottles of whiskey, sit in my house, drink them all and die of an overdose,
or "alcohol poisoning" as it is commonly known.

What keeps me from doing that? The fact that I would have to be a complete
idiot to do so. My parents have conditioned me to have this kind of common
sense, not the government. Why can't the same be done with crack or heroin?
