LEGAL RULES FRUSTRATING FOR THOSE WHO CARE TO CALL
I am so proud of the voices being raised against the ice epidemic that has hit
our islands. It is also nice to know that there are still people out there who
care for our young ones and are not afraid of being vocal.
I too have been the eyes of our community and have been getting nowhere. You
literally have to beg in order to speak to a sergeant over the phone privately.
But before that, you will be told they are very busy, you can't just call and
not give more information, we can't help you if you don't have license plates
numbers, times, and description of cars.
Why be the eyes of the community if we have to go to hell and back before
someone will listen to us? I am pretty sure people who call in about drug
activities going on in their communities are not doing this for the thrill of
using the telephone.
My apologies to our policemen for again being so vocal. I know you do not make
the laws, you just follow the them, and you all do an excellent job to protect
our community. But people will turn away from this ice problem if the top
authorities don't listen to them!
We need to protect our grandchildren and children from this evil drug. The only
way this can be done is to open our ears and by letting the community help.
