LIFE-TERM IN DRUG CASE
DUBAI - The Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday sentenced M. A. A., a
27-year-old Sri Lankan, to life in prison on the charges of possessing
drugs and trading in narcotic substances.
The defendant was arrested in March this year during a police sting
operation in which the defendant was found in possession of 0.6 grammes of
marijuana. The defendant was first spotted by a police informant along
Jumeirah Corniche giving out his mobile number to passersby.The police
arrested the culptit red-handed in a sting operation on March 29.
