WATERING DOWN PRIVACY LAWS WON'T STOP DRUG USE
I read with interest how Hawaii's U.S. attorney thinks we can combat our ice
problem by requiring school counselors to report students talking about
drugs.
Changing our privacy laws won't stop the substance abuse problem on Maui or
anyplace else. Does the U.S. attorney really think students are going to put
themselves in jeopardy by talking about their drug problems, knowing the
school will call the Drug Enforcement Agency? I wonder how the attorney ever
got his job.
