ILL MAN FOUND GUILTY OF DRUGS CHARGES
The Northland beneficiary who defended himself in court this week from a
hospital bed has been found guilty by a jury of possession of cannabis oil
for sale and supply.
Jon Andrews was charged with the offence during August 2000 but his trial
had been postponed because of his health.
He has a grossly swollen leg that weighs about 80kg through a condition
called lymphoedema. Andrews said he used cannabis daily to alleviate the
pain for his leg but police said the cannabis oil found in his home was for
supply.
