BRAVO TO FEDERAL DRUG AGENTS

Regarding "Legal to Oregon, illegal to federal agents" (Oct. 12), to the
U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, I would say bravo!

Travis Paulson and all his pro-drug cronies should take note that the
federal government intends to enforce the laws regardless of a few pro-drug
lobbyists who managed to convince Oregon voters that marijuana is the only
drug that can ease their nausea and kill their pain.

In the beginning, their only claim was that it was for the nausea that
occasionally accompanied chemotherapy, but it has graduated to also killing
pain -- how convenient!

It is interesting that they would prefer to use an illegal drug to do these
things when there are shelves full of legal prescription drugs already
marketed for these purposes.

It was a mistake to decriminalize small quantities of this stuff back in
the 1970s and then to legalize it for medicinal purposes.
