CANNABIS INSANITY
Thanks for publishing "High Court: Docs' Pot Advice Is OK" [Newsday
Oct. 15]. The Drug Enforcement Agency would have Americans believe that
medical marijuana is a cruel hoax or myth. There is no question that the
cannabinoids in marijuana have medicinal value. They work in harmony to
relieve pain and other medical problems.
Smoking marijuana isn't the only way it can be ingested. Patients can
vaporize it, make tinctures, or use it in teas and food items. So the
harmful effects of smoking are no excuse for our government's actions.
Other nations are distributing cannabis and cannabis-based medications via
prescription to those who benefit from its use.
Americans should demand that our government end this insanity at once and
list cannabis as a Schedule II or III substance, as it should be.
