PRAY FOR RUSH AND OTHER ADDICTS

The admission by Rush Limbaugh that he has been addicted to pain pills for
a number of years should serve as a reminder that all of us, whatever our
political and religious beliefs or our racial/ethnic classification, are
united by our common identity as flawed human beings.

Each of us, whatever our station in life, has his own personal demons to
confront and overcome.

As Americans, we are fortunate to live in a country where we are free to
express our political beliefs vigorously, and certainly, Rush has done that
throughout his talk radio career.

So some who are opposed to him politically maybe tempted to find some
satisfaction or even gloat at his current personal problems.

That might provide short-term satisfaction, but I think it would result in
the loss of an opportunity for growth.

As a Christian, I believe each person on this Earth is equally created in
the image of God and equally loved by him.

Therefore, we must find common ground. Recognition of our shared
imperfection may be a good place to start.

It's worth a try. In any event, I will be praying for Limbaugh and all
those who are striving to overcome their addictions.
