Ottawa -- It is doubtful there will ever be a reliable roadside test for
drug impairment. Different drugs stay in the body for different periods of
time, so even if drugs are found in urine or blood, the impairment may have
passed, or indeed, impairment may never have even happened.

I have seen drivers impaired by fatigue, cold medications, blood-sugar
imbalances, holding food or beverages, cell phones, old age and just plain
old stupidity. Where are the roadside tests for those crimes?

The police are just trying to keep the fear of marijuana alive, when they
know, and most Canadians know, that prohibition is the real danger to our
society.
