D.A.R.E. IN SCHOOLS: OUNCE OF PREVENTION
The writer is a Mecklenburg district judge. In response to "Taking a new
D.A.R.E." (Oct. 14):
I hope Mecklenburg County can find the resources to include the third
portion (the ninth-grade session) of D.A.R.E. in our schools.
We can use some resources to prevent teenage drug abuse. Or, in the
alternative, we can use a lot of resources to prosecute teenage drug abuse.
It is the community's choice -- classroom or courtroom.
