DO THE TIME, RUSH
I think Rush Limbaugh should admit surgery was not the sole cause of
his addiction. His own arrogance played a significant role, too.
He should also admit that he decided to "come clean" only because he
got caught, and lied, in essence, to his listeners when he said he
decided to "be honest" as he'd always been about his personal life. He
wasn't forthright the previous two times.
"Treatment is the answer for Rush, not prison," said one local radio
personality, gratefully lauding what he's done for radio and others'
careers.
I would also point out, however, that he's done a lot financially to
help violent criminals. It seems some people have a double standard
for their rich buddies.
"No prison?" To them I say, look into the faces of mothers of children
accidentally killed in drive-by shootings. Tell them that.
Limbaugh needs to do the time that others he's heavily criticized, now
his peers, are doing right now. I don't revel in his misfortune.
Addicts have a disease and suffer terribly, but crime is crime. I
sincerely hope that Limbaugh is able one day to learn to live a
healthy life, free from drug abuse - and from dishonesty.
Please pray for him. He's going to need it.
