EDUCATING LEGISLATORS ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF POT

The time has come to think calmly and with compassion about the
question of marijuana for medical purposes.

The goal of the medical profession is to relieve pain and to restore
health as much as is humanly possible. If it is permissible to
prescribe morphine, Demerol, codeine and the rest of the array of
narcotics to patients, then why not include marijuana?

It has been proven that marijuana has helped greatly in relieving the
intense nausea that chemotherapy causes in cancer patients. It also
helps relieve the suffering of AIDS and glaucoma patients.

If lawmakers had to suffer from the nausea of chemotherapy for one
day, the law against doctors prescribing marijuana in Ohio would be
changed within 24 hours.

I thank God that the Supreme Court did not stop doctors from
prescribing it. At least nine states have made it legal to prescribe.
What's wrong with Ohio? It is cruel to withhold such a known benefit
from the public.
