NCB SHOWS ITS APPRECIATION TO SPONSORS

"For the sake of the country and the people, let us together fight
against drug abuse in the country and in the world so that the
Narcotics Control Bureau's vision of a 'drug free community, partners
towards a safe country' and the ASEAN vision of a 'Drug Free ASEAN
2015' can be reached."

This was said by Hj Abdul Majid bin Margarshah, the Director of the
Narcotics Control Bureau who also expressed his hope that cooperation
between the public and private sector could shape a harmonious and
united community.

To show its appreciation to sponsors and agencies in their
cooperation and their contributions in the fight against drug abuse
in Brunei, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) held an appreciation
dinner at the Indera Kayangan Ball Room, Empire Hotel and Country Club.

Attending as guest of honour was the Deputy Minister of the Prime
Minister's Office, Dato Seri Paduka Awg Hj Mohd Eussoff Agaki bin Hj
Ismail, who later presented certificates and souvenirs to a number of
sponsors and agencies.

Several of the sponsors and agencies who contributed included Sunlit
Advertising Sdn Bhd, DST Communications Sdn Bhd, Brunei Press Sdn
Bhd, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Standard Chartered Bank
(SCB) and NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd.

The dinner was also held in conjunction with the annual International
Drug Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which was held
yesterday, with Brunei's theme being "Do drugs control your life?"

The entertainment for the night included a guling tangan performance
by Rakan Harmoni, a poetry performance called "Siti Sita Situ" and
the singing of "Masa Depan Kehidupan" by Primary Two and Primary Four
students from Freda Radin School as they waved flags proclaiming "No Drugs".
