COMING CLEAN ON HIS ADDICTION
Eagerness to trash or defend Rush Limbaugh has obscured the important
question: why was Limbaugh not permitted to legally obtain the pain
medication he needed? Our government is obsessed with "addiction" to
the exclusion of the needs of people suffering from chronic pain. I
hope the post-rehab Limbaugh will have some sympathy, say, for the
many cancer patients who find in marijuana their only relief from the
pain and nausea of chemotherapy. His influential voice might do some
good.
