CLAIM ABOUT METH CLINICS WAY OFF BASE

Regarding the recent letter by Donna Adkins ... She is correct in that
methadone is addictive and can kill. However, her assumption that methadone
clinics are just legal dope dealers is way off base.

As a counselor for 12 years and a recovering addict myself for the past 16
years, I am offended that your paper would print this letter without any
research or investigation.

Research the percentage of opiate addicts who successfully stay clean
through abstinence-based treatment for more than five years, and how many
commit suicide due to depression. There is 35 years of documented research
.. Let's tell the truth and stop screaming "the sky is falling."
