SAFE-INJECTION SITES WRONG PRIORITY
It seems to me that the City of Victoria has its priorities warped in
requesting $1.2 million to assist people in injecting and ingesting
illegal drugs while services to children and other social services
are being cut back. If people want to inject and ingest illegal
drugs, we as a society should not be assisting them at the expense of
social programs for the rest of society.
We should be enforcing tougher laws and penalties for illegal drug
use, not condoning it by supplying sites and equipment to users of
illegal drugs.
Gordon Greenhow,
Victoria.
