GOING TO POT

I agree with Tony Cannavino, president of the Canadian Professional Police
Association.

There are too many serious flaws in Bill C-38, and the approach advocated
by the government to deal with the plague of marijuana is altogether
heading in the wrong direction.

There is nothing wrong with producing, distributing or smoking cannabis
that would justify a fine or an arrest or even a shaken finger by Canadian
police officers, the police chief or Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.

It just so happens that the proof is in the pudding.

Ontario enjoyed the entire summer without a cannabis possession law and
remarkably enough, the sky did not fall.

And not one of the "police worries" of lawlessness Canadians were warned
about for 100 years arose.

Why would the police lie? It wouldn't have anything to do with the fact
that catching sinners is a lot easier than catching criminals now would it?
