OPP WARNS OF DANGER OF DRUG PRODUCTION

Perth County OPP is issuing a warning to area residents about materials
used to make methamphetamine. Police said in the last six months they have
found people produing illegal methamphetamine in houses in residential
areas and in rural settings.

During the production of the drug, police said a strong odour of ammonia is
produced and those making it often do so in rural areas where the odour is
not easily detected.

Recently, police said they have received reports of suspicious activities
in treed lots and open fields. Further investigation revealed evidence the
locations were used to produce methamphetamine.

Police are advising residents that the materials used to make the drug are
dangerous and sometimes explosive.
