MARIJUANA GROW-OPS AND CRIME
I have been struggling to find a clean, safe, affordable home for myself and
my two cats. Unfortunately, I am a middle-aged, non-smoking woman on a
disability pension, therefore, my housing options are limited. It has been a
source of unending frustration, disappointment and upset to me, that so many
landlords refuse to rent to me because I have pets.
Several years ago, I made the mistake of moving into an apartment building
that housed a drug dealer. I complained to the landlord/owner. To my shock,
horror and astonishment she said, "I don't care if they are drug dealers.
Drug dealers always have money so I know they're always going to pay the
rent."
What a wonderfully sane, balanced world we live in, where dangerous,
irresponsible, drug dealers are considered to be better tenants than a
mature, middle-aged woman with pets!
I suppose I could become one of those, "always has money" drug dealers, so I
could actually afford a clean, safe place to live, but, unfortunately, I'm
too intelligent to choose such an idiotic way of life.
