POT ACTIVIST, POLITICAL HOPEFUL BACK IN COURT

Bradner resident and pot activist Tim Felger appears in Abbotsford
Provincial Court on Wednesday and Thursday for trial.

The outspoken Felger, a mayoralty candidate in the last civic election,
faces charges of assault, causing a disturbance and assault by trespass
after an incident on April 15 outside the Abbotsford courthouse. When
Felger refused to stop handing out pamphlets advertising a marijuana rally,
he was forcibly removed and allegedly bit a sheriff on the hand.

This case was to go to court in March but Judge Clifford MacArthur declared
a mistrial after determining he was too familiar with Crown witnesses, who
included courthouse sheriffs.

Felger and Edward James Larson are also scheduled to appear in Chilliwack
Supreme Court in January to face charges of cultivation of marijuana.

His defence lawyers are still waiting for full disclosure of evidence on
the matter. Felger said he also wants to run in Abbotsford in the federal
election as a candidate for the Marijuana Party of Canada.
