POLICE DISCOVER HEROIN HEADED FOR MIAMI AT BOGOTA AIRPORT
BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) -- Authorities discovered 45 pounds of heroin hidden
in wheelchairs and computer hard drives at Bogota's international airport,
police said Sunday.
The heroin, estimated to have a street value of $1.26 million in the United
States, was headed for Miami and New York, airport police chief Omar
Gonzalez said.
Colombia produces most of the heroin sold in the United States and at least
80 percent of the world's cocaine.
