U.S. OFFERS BIG REWARD IN KIDNAP OF AMERICANS
The United States is preparing a reward of up to $5 million for
information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individual
involved in or responsible for the kidnapping of three U.S. military
contractors in Colombia and the killing of a fourth, the State
Department said.
The three Americans, Tom Howes, Marc Gonsalves and Keith Stansell,
were captured by the a rebel group when their single-engine plane
crash-landed in guerrilla territory while on an anti-drug mission in
February. Rebels allegedly executed a fourth American, Tom Janis.
