IF PATRIOT ACT IS THAT GOOD, LET'S PRAISE IT
Your Nov. 16 editorial ("Patriot Act") echoes "concerns" that the Patriot
Act "has been used for investigations [of activities] that have little or
nothing to do with terrorism," such as "drug traffic, white-collar crime,
blackmail, child pornography, money laundering, espionage and even foreign
leaders who were deemed to be corrupt."I would suggest that if the Patriot
Act can be used to protect us from terrorism as well as everything else on
your list, then it is exceptionally good and worth praising, not criticizing.
