ADDICTS ARTICLE ELICITS CRITICISM AND PRAISE

We were pleased to see Addiction and Rehabilitation Information listed as
part of the very interesting article "Middle Class Addicts", by Alicia
Priest. Thanks, also, for noting two services provided by our agency, the
Red Book and the Alcohol and Drug Information & Referral. The latter
service is actually provided by us, and not the Vancouver Coastal Health
Authority, as you stated. This is a small point; the main point is that we
have trained staff available seven days a week, 24 hours, to talk to anyone
whose life is affected by addiction and who needs resources to help start
the process of recovery.

We welcome callers who have an addiction problem themselves, or those whose
lives are affected by someone else's addiction. Call us anytime for free
and confidential assistance at (604) 660-9382, or toll-free, 1-800-663-1441.
