PUT THE METHADONE CLINIC IN ONE OF THE HOSPITALS

What Barbara Maberry is really saying is, "not in my back yard" (Nov.
15 letter to the editor, "Put the methadone clinic in downtown
Roanoke"). Well, I feel the same way.

As a homeowner in the Old Southwest section of Roanoke, we don't need
any more social programs, clinics or places of concern - no matter how
badly the city needs them.

This is very needed, and there will be good things to result, but
place this clinic in one of the hospitals in the valley. Carilion
Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Lewis-Gale Medical Center have excellent
security, which is trained to handle these matters. Or maybe Maberry
has room in her basement?
