DRUG PUSHERS MOVE OUT TOWN
CITY Police Director Supt. Mario Yanga said the top five drug personalities
who used to operate in the City are now in Sulu and running operations
through so-called lieutenants.
Yanga said the intensified campaign by the Task Group Tumba Droga Alpha and
Bravo caused this shift of operations.
He said illegal drug activity has decreased in the City following the high
penalty and the absence of bail bonds for suspects caught pushing illegal
drugs.
Yanga said that at present there are still about 100 drug users and pushers
in their watch-list. He said they are trying to solicit cooperation from
arrested pushers, however these pushers often refuse to cooperate because
the drug lords are supporting the families while the pushers are in jail.
