CHEZ MARYJANE

This weekend, the Bloc Pot will be opening Chez Maryjane, Montreal's first
cannabis cafe. Kind of. It's not really a cafe in the strictest sense of
the word - coffee will be served, yes, but, because the establishment isn't
licensed as a commercial venue, patrons are asked for donations for coffee
and admission. They also say Chez Maryjane will be a place to discuss
ideas, education, harm reduction and the law (it's also a good place to
find lawyers). No pot is for sale, but they promise not to crack down on
anyone should a joint be lit. The opening party is on Saturday, Nov. 29, at
950 Rachel E. at 11:30 a.m.
