COURT FAILED US

After reading John Kelley Jr.'s letter concerning the Georgia law officer
who stopped the vehicle with all those drugs in it, I had to comment. First
of all, I'm a police officer in Georgia, and it sounds to me as if the
circuit court has failed every law-abiding citizen in the nation.

Where do you think those drugs were going, to the drug store? I doubt it.
They were going to other drug dealers and then to men, women and children
all over this state so that the dealers could make a profit.

It sounds to me as if this officer had a feeling something was wrong, he
acted on it and he was right. Of course, most drug dealers don't want you
to search their vehicles; this is when good policing comes into play.

What gives this person the right to travel down our roads with a vehicle
full of drugs? And, if you look at all the traffic stops made by officers,
there are very few vehicles that are searched.
