GOOSE CREEK POLICE RIGHT TO ACT AS THEY DID

How many readers remember Columbine and Paducah, Ky.? Remember how quickly
a school can turn into a war zone? Given the allegation that drugs were
being sold and money was involved in the Stratford High School incident,
there was a great possibility that a gunfight could have developed. With
these facts in mind, the police were very prudent doing what they did. Had
drug dealers started firing guns and the police not been prepared, there
would no doubt have been a lot of police-bashing going on.

I am tired of a fickle public bashing our law enforcement personnel at
every opportunity. I am not advocating gun control because with guns, the
serfs (slaves) in Europe won their freedom from the rich landowners. With
guns, the founders of this country threw off the yoke of bondage to England
and made this a free nation. With gun control, we would quickly become a
nation with a ruling elite, and the rest of us would be forced to do their
bidding.
