PAIN IS BAD, BUT IT IS PREFERABLE TO ADDICTION

I had to respond to a recent article about pain and drug addiction.

I suffer chronic pain. There is no let-up. I take prescription pain
medication properly. It helps, but never completely gets rid of the pain. I
can assure you that people who are in as much pain as I will never get
addicted to drugs.

People like Rush Limbaugh cannot stand to feel any pain, so they take the
pills anytime and don't follow directions, hence addiction.
