DRUGS WORTH $550,000 SEIZED IN SYDNEY'S INNER WEST

A 41-year-old woman and 55-year-old man have been arrested after
$550,000 worth of drugs was discovered in raids on four properties in
Sydney's inner-west.

NSW police said a house in Hill Street, Dulwich Hill and two homes in
Frances Street, Marrickville were raided simultaneously at 7.30am
(AEDT) yesterday.

A fourth home in St Peters was raided later in the day as a result of
information obtained during the search of these three houses.

Police discovered a large quantity of immature cannabis plants and
several thousand dollars in cash in one of the Frances Street premises
and money was also found in the second Marrickville house.

The search of the Dulwich Hill home resulted in the seizure of more
cash and the discovery of white powder believed to be ice.

As a result of the three raids, police then applied for a fourth
search warrant for a house in Sutherland Street, St Peters where more
than 200 mature cannabis plants were found.

The plants were hydroponically grown and had an estimated street value
of $420,000.

A 41-year-old Dulwich Hill woman has been charged with having goods in
custody and will appear at Newtown Local Court on January 6.

A 55-year-old Marrickville man has been charged with cultivating
indictable quantity of cannabis, he was refused bail and will appear
at Balmain Local Court today.
