SCHOOL SHOULD ALLOW PAIN RELIEVER POSSESSION

McKinney, Texas

The folks in Bossier must be the laughing stock of the United States for
expelling a girl because she had Advil for a headache in her purse. Zero
tolerance is a joke. All it does is produce a one-size-fits-all solution for
complex problems that need careful consideration. This child apparently has
headaches. No one on this School Board must have headaches nor do they have
a shred of critical thinking ability. Everything seems to have to fit into
the black and white, good and bad standard. Actually reminds me of a
president I know.

I hope someone convinces them to look at the reasonableness of the standard
because it isn't if we are compassionate about people's pain. An example
could be two to four over-the-counter pain pills like aspirin, Advil or
Tylenol may be carried by the high school student for headaches or other
minor pain.

I am certified in substance abuse, and over-the-counter Advil has caused NO
concern among the addiction experts. It is an anti-inflammatory, used by
millions for headaches and arthritis. You can't feel it when you have taken
it, except if you are lucky the pain will be relieved. Grandmothers all over
the world take this product for their aching joints. Boy, and I thought
Texas had some really strange people. You are giving us a run for our money!
