DRUG USERS TOO 'STUPID' TO THINK OF ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES
Dear Editor,
It is time to speak up about the other side of proposed legislation
and the discussion of drugs and drug users.
The public has heard the law enforcement side and the users' side,
repeatedly.
But no one speaks about the ramifications of drugs on drug-free people
in our society.
Drug users stress law enforcement, cost medical services and drain
financial resources. Drug users doom their children to repeat the
habits they find normal at home. It is chilling that these children
are the adults of our future.
Drug users are too stupid to consider their own children or any
civilized people.
I do not have the luxury of stupidity so, by default, my
responsibility to speak up is greater.
Nearly four years ago neighbours on the west side of my townhome
started subjecting me to their ongoing drug stench, permeating through
my walls and impregnating my home with their stink.
Neighbours moved into the east side of me and they're horrendously
worse.
I have not had one single day or night free of my neighbours'
stench.
It sometimes gives me blinding headaches and, other times, it's so
strong I'm nauseous. Rational communications has resulted in abuse.
Strata council members protect their own interest.
Three air purifiers, three extractor fans, deodorizing sprays and
perfumes, open doors and windows offer little relief.
My right to quiet enjoyment has been annihilated. It is time to hear
and protect the rights of people who contribute to society and who are
not a drain on resources.
I would be negligent not to protect my children and my
grandchildren.
Anti-drug activism is worthwhile and a positive exercise to better our
lives.
