THE HIDDEN TRASH

It's seems everyone is catching on to ways and measures available out
there to protect the environment. More and more people are recycling
and becoming self-conscious of things that litter and/or damage their
milieu.

The latest approach is a private company taking on a new initiative of
providing garbage containers to residents in Labrador West. If enough
people opt to buy into the new idea, no doubt it will add to the
cleanliness of this area.

The towns of Labrador City and Wabush are, without a doubt, close to
pristine in appearance, which is indicative of the great efforts of
both towns. People are cognizant these days and simply just don't
tolerate trash. They don't like to see it and they don' t like to smell it.

But there is a form of garbage and scum dirtying up the towns that
will require a lot more work and creativity to fumigate. The most
dangerous form of trash is drug dealers and pushers lurking in the
area. The foul air this type of trash creates, reeks far worse than
the contents of a month-old bag of garbage.

When students can readily buy marijuana and - even scarier - cocaine
at their high school, it's a sad and frightening reality for every
decent citizen of this area.

Those cowards have kids peddling their wares in schools and on the
street while they sit comfortably in their overpriced easy chairs. The
marketing pitch is an unspoken concept.it is much cooler to snort
white stuff up your nose than ace a math test.

The RNC has made a number of arrests associated with cocaine and
marijuana trafficking this fall, so this problem isn't a figment of
anyone's imagination. This a big red flag to what's lurking in the
streets and schoolyards of Labrador West. The police are cracking down
and are making differences in the supply coming into the area, but
it's far from eliminated.

Those who reap the benefits of stinking livelihood haven't got the
intelligence or foresight to see the cruel and unjust havoc they are
inflicting on the most susceptible and precious of society.

The top-of-line furniture, houses, electronics, automobiles and any
luxurious adult toys those conscienceless parasites are enjoying have
a cost to the community. The price falls on the shoulders of many kids
whose lives are screwed up and the heartbreak of the parents.

The drug suppliers run in the same vein as the abhorrent pedophiles
who molest children and destroy. How many children's futures are shot
because of problems with addictions before they are even old enough to
take a drink? How many futures are raped by these ruthless
self-serving vermin?

Parents and educators are up against enough obstacles raising and
educating children, without this human scum infecting and polluting
young lives.

Those living high on the hog from the dirty revenues can easily send
their kids off to the best colleges and stick their chests out in
public as they take the free ride. Those dealers have no desire to see
the horrors they spew on lives, nor do they view the addict on the
streets or the inmates in prisons as products of their
wrongdoings.

Any rubbish is unhealthy, but this form of human trash is the worst,
as it breeds violence, addictions, robs futures and destroys some of
the best and brightest young minds.

Just because the opportunity is there to leech off the most
vulnerable, it doesn't give them the right. Those dealers are the
trash that needs to be taken out of town and dumped like the rest of
the garbage found on the curbs collection day.
