THROW MORALITY INTO THE LAW-ABIDING MIX

Riaan Kriel advises us all to obey the law at all times, implying those who
don't are selfish twits who deserve to be sneered at.

Would Kriel have obeyed a law that required him to inform the authorities
where Jews are hiding? Would Kriel have obeyed a law that required him to
inform the authorities where runaway slaves are hiding? Would Kriel have
obeyed a law that required him to inform the authorities where citizens of
Japanese descent are hiding?

Responsible citizens have a duty to disobey unjust laws. Contrary to
Kriel's untroubled outlook, life for most of us is full of moral challenges.
