When I first read about the police officers roughing-up suspected drug
dealers, my first reaction -- and I don't think I was the only one -- was
"good for them, give them a medal." But upon more sober thought, I realized
if such behaviour was tolerated, a police state with the inherent horrors
would be just around the corner.
