INSITE, ONSITE BOTH DESERVE SUPPORT

Re: "Help for Insite drug users available Onsite soon," June 29.

I want to congratulate both Mike Howell and the Courier for the
excellent article on the Insite/Onsite program.

As an individual who has lived and worked in and around the field of
addictions for much of my life I have been a strong supporter of the
Insite facility and am so very glad that it is expanding by developing
the Onsite project.

It is clearly a much-needed facility and will, over time, have a very
positive impact on the incidence of drug abuse in our wonderful city.
Heather Hay is to be congratulated for her untiring support and vision
for the total project.

I only hope local politicians have enough wisdom to see that this is a
project that they should be strongly supporting.
