3 DRUG WAREHOUSES RAIDED; 26 KILOS OF SHABU SEIZED

POLICE conducted simultaneous raids on drug laboratories and
warehouses in Paraqaque and Las Piqas Monday morning.

Police said two warehouses in Las Piqas yielded a total of 26 kilos of
shabu.

The raided stockrooms were on Aguilar Avenue in Balon 1 and on New
Delhi street, B.F. Tourist International subdivision.

Police said the warehouses were also being used as clandestine shabu
laboratory.

Police also raided a third drug depot at Room 1803 of Bay View
Inyernational Tower 2 in Paraqaque City.

Superintendent Nelson Yabut, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)
spokesman, said shabu, ephedrine, and chemistry books were seized from
the room at Bayview International Tower 2.

"Research and development are being done here," Yabut
said.

Yabut said a certain Miko Tan, who had been arrested over his alleged
involvement in the drug laboratory that had been raided by police in
Cavite province, was also behind the facility in Paraqaque.

Yabut added that Tan also went by the Chinese name Yuchin Tan and a
Filipino name - Antonio Nava.

In a statement Monday, President Arroyo lauded the raids saying it
proved that the government's anti-drug campaign was rolling with
"greater momentum."

"This is our 17th big catch in 6 months and the dragnet is closing in
on the drug syndicates. We are drying up the supply, clearing the
barangays of pushers and taking in more users for rehabilitation."

Arroyo added that the government is closing in on drug syndicates and
communities are now becoming safer from illegal substances.
