MARIJUANA EDITORIAL 100 PERCENT INCORRECT

Dear Editor:

In your editorial last week (Court ruling on drugs good news, Jan. 7)
you were 100 per cent incorrect.

The Supreme Court finally got one wrong, the exact opposite of what
you opined.

Their decision on same-sex marriage was right on the money, because it
recognized the reality that homosexuals are in all other respects just
like the rest of us, and need to be treated with equality and dignity.

They missed on the cannabis issue because they failed to recognize
that the role of the Constitution and the Charter of Rights and
Freedoms exist to protect us from government, and the type of zealots
who tend to gravitate to the halls of power, and who, once there, tend
to want to exert their power over us, and make us do what they want us
to do.

By taking the stance they did on this issue the supremes weakened the
protection afforded by these documents.

It is up to the individual to decide what will give him happiness, and
as long as he harms nobody else, or the environment, should be left
alone to do as he wishes.

To decide on any other basis, is to rob us of our freedom.
