Re Stronach Straightens Up And Flies Right (Jan. 23): I am saddened to hear
of recent anti-marijuana comments made by
auto-parts-czarina-cum-Conservative-leadership-hopeful Belinda Stronach. She
is right about one thing, however: Chaos will reign at the border if pot is
decriminalized.

Legions of university students and ex-hippie baby boomers will swarm into
our socially liberal paradise to light up. Tourism will escalate as U.S.
dollars flood into our economy. A second economic spin-off will be a huge
boost to the snack-food industry.

Decriminalizing pot makes pure economic sense. Shame on you, Ms. Stronach. I
expected much more from a captain of industry.
