PROTESTERS AIM TO FILL THE HILL
Thank you for your excellent column on the ill effects of keeping marijuana
illegal (Jan. 14).
In your article you call for a massive public protest of current marijuana
policy. I would like to inform you that is exactly what marijuana activists
around the country are planning.
We intend to literally fill Parliament Hill with protesters on June 5. The
marijuana prohibition is cutting at the very foundation of our society -
law and order are going to the dogs so that a some people can continue to
profit from pot prohibition, and we demand that the federal government take
action.
On Dec. 23, 2003 the Supreme Court told us that is is up to Parliament to
prohibit pot if they want to. Now it is up to us to tell our public
servants what we as Canadians demand of them, in a voice so loud they'll
have no choice but to listen.
