CFHA SUPPORTS LOCAL D.A.R.E. PROGRAM
In November 2003, two members of the 14 Wing Military Police Flight,
MCpl Mike Saulnier and Cpl Jackie Lord, began teaching Drug Abuse
Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) to grade five and six students in
Dwight Ross and Ecole Rose des Vents. The 17-week program, whose motto
is "D.A.R.E. To Resist Drugs and Violence", is taught by qualified
police officers and is designed to help students recognize and resist
the many subtle pressures that influence them to ex-periment with
drugs, gangs and violence.
The 14Wing CFHAoffice, as part of the Community Council, has
generously donated $1,000.00 toward the purchase of materials for the
57 students currently enrolled in the program and for the use of
future classes. Local support of this program benefits the youth of
our community and therefore the community itself.
