HANNA ELKS SPONSOR DRUG PRESENTATION

Hanna Herald - Drugs are something that everyone has to deal with at some
point in their lives.

For parents, they may have to worry about their children making friends
with people who are selling drugs.

Kids may have to deal with peer pressure; their friends telling them to try
it or they won't be part of the "in" crowd.

To help everyone deal with the problems presented by drugs there will be a
presentation at the J.C. Charyk school on drugs and drug safety.

According to Gerald Campion of the Hanna Elks, the RCMP normally hold a
D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) presentation, but this year the
RCMP have asked the Hanna Elks to make the drug awareness presentation.

They will be speaking about the drug issue and will also have a book, Drug
Safety The Choice is Yours, available.

Many area businesses contributed to purchasing the books for the presentation.

"There are 460 books made available through the generosity of their
donations," said Campion.

Everyone is invited to attend the presentation. It will be at 1 p.m. on
Thursday, January 29 at the south gym of J.C. Charyk school.
