MARTIN AGAINST HEROIN INJECTING ROOMS

Northern Territory Chief Minister Clare Martin says she has not and is not
supporting heroin injecting rooms in the Northern Territory.

The Federal ALP's draft policy platform supports research based trials of
alternatives for the treatment and management of drug dependence.

CLP Leader Terry Mills believes that would leave the way open for heroin
injecting rooms in jurisdictions with Labor Governments and had called on
the Chief Minister to voice her opposition.

Ms Martin says heroin injecting rooms are not on her agenda.

"I don't know where Terry Mills is getting the notion from, that somehow I
support heroin injection rooms for the Territory," she said.

"I have not and I am not."
