USED NEEDLE FOUND IN PARK

I am writing to let people know about a disheartening and appalling
incident that took place last week. While my three-year-old son was
playing in the park area beside Lions Park he found and was poked by a
used needle.

Not a sewing needle but a syringe and needle, probably used for drugs
though I will never know that for sure. I did not know this was a risk
for people using Canmore's green areas but I now know it is.

Parents, be wary of this risk. Drug users PLEASE respect our parks and
dispose of your needles safely. My three-year-old and all of Canmore
residents should be able to play in our parks safely.
