WHAT ABOUT CITY HALL FOR SAFE-INJECTION SITE?

As an owner of property in downtown Victoria, I am writing to express
my disapproval of the "safe-injection sites" proposed for the core. I
am concerned about both the legality and the cost of the project.

That said, might I offer a suggestion to reduce the tax impact of
starting up these three sites.

Let the first site be placed in City Hall. There are already 24-hour
security and first-aid services on site.

Let the second site be the Victoria Police Department headquarters.
Security and first aid are already on site and it would reduce
response time for disturbances.

The third site could be the Victoria works yard at 417 Garbally Rd.
Again, there is both security and first aid on site.

If it is determined that the sites should be located farther out of
the city, the Vancouver Island Health Authority has two hospitals
that would be excellent sites.

Our taxes are already high enough; certainly there is reason to these
suggestions.

Courtenay.
