MAKE DRUGS LEGAL
I'm writing about Bruce Guy's not-so-thoughtful letter, 'Police On
Track' (Jan. 23 Herald). Almost all the problems our society has with
illegal drugs are because the drugs are illegal.
Almost all of the "harms" from illegal drugs are because the drugs are
illegal. Drugs are of unknown quality, unknown purity and unknown
potency. They are unregulated, untaxed and controlled by criminal gangs.
My advice to Canada and the rest of the world is to carefully observe
U.S. drug policies -- then do the opposite.
Don't follow us, we're lost.
