WOMAN COP DEALT DRUGS: MURDER SUSPECT

She Failed To Cut Me Some Cash.

This was the reason given by 18-year old Alberto Beloria for killing
PO1 Gemma Jatico of the Agora police precinct last month.

Beloria, a native of Calina Davao City, surrendered to the authorities
in Kadilingan, Bukidnon, after being persuaded by his father last Wednesday.

In an interview over ABS-CBN Cagayan de Oro, Beloria alleged that
Jatico supposedly failed to give him his share of the earnings taken
from various illegal activities like drug peddling.

He also said a police officer whom Jatico lived with after her
separation from her husband had personal knowledge of her death.

Beloria became a trustee of the Agora police during the tenure of
Insp. Celso Montil who later transferred to the Cogon police precinct.
He was placed under Cogon precinct custody for swindling.

Authorities confiscated from the suspect's possession Jatico's
motorcycle without the plate number but the chasis numbers showed it
was owned by Jatico.

On hearing the news some personnel in the Agora police precinct
couldn't believe that Beloria killed Jatico because the suspect was
close to the victim.

"Bisan kami naglibog unsa ang hinungdan dili man sab tua malditohon
nga bata," (We are really confused, what's the reason, that kid was
not that bad)," SPO1 Levina Carreon said.

Jatico's colleagues believed that someone paid the suspect to kill
her. Beloria helped in many police operations and was brought by
Montil to the Cogon precinct.

However, Montil said he drove out Beloria after he started to do some
"stupid things."

"Gipalayas ko man to sa Cogon kay bugoy na kaayo nibalik diay sa Agora
og latagaw (I sent him out because he was doing stupid things and I
was just surprised that he went back to the Agora precinct)," he said.

Beloria fit the description stated in the cartographic sketch done by
police based on the account given by the gasoline boy who filled up
Jatico's motorcycle.

The vehicle was stolen by Beloria for use as getaway vehicle last
January 26. Jatico was killed as she was headed home at San Nicolas,
Puntod at 8 p.m. on that date.

According to witnesses the suspect waited for her at a road near the
site and stabbed her seven times, killing her.

Her motorcycle, cellphone, watch and wallet were taken by the
suspect.

For his part Mayor Vicente Emano said he will personally investigate
the suspect to verify the real motives of the crime.

"Dili unta madagmalan ug angay mapangutana kong unsa ang iyang motibo
o kinsa ba kaha ang nagsugo kaniya (I an hoping the suspect won't be
harassed so we can ask him what his motive was or maybe who told him
to kill the victim)," Emano said.

The suspect is scheduled for transfer at Camp Alagar Saturday.
