WAR ON DRUGS CUTTABLE
I was sorely disappointed that syndicated columnist Robert J. Samuelson
failed to mention the totally failed war on drugs as a place for cutting
the budget ("Realistic budget would include radical program cuts, tax
hikes," Feb. 14).
This program keeps drug warlords in power all over the world and wastes
scarce resources as well as putting nonviolent people into our overcrowded
jails. The program could be completely eliminated and drugs made legal
without any harm to society.
