SUPPORT FOR STAPLEFORD

We are aware of the current General Medical Council case challenging
the clinical discretion and practice of several doctors working at the
Stapleford Centre (Doctors at top drugs clinic face charges, February
16). We must support these doctors and strongly resist any attempts by
the GMC to stop their medical practice.

Those receiving adequate medication for opiate dependency are able to
live functional, successful emotional and professional lives. What
will happen if these seven Stapleford doctors are struck off? Will the
current 200 patients be given continued treatment at another clinic?
